Treatments failed and his condition worsened until it seemed certain he would die. Jose's wife Amalia prayed fervently with her children to Our Lady of San Juan de los Lagos. In turn, Jose made a slow but complete recovery and eventually the family visited the image of the Virgin to give thanks. The text closes with a prayer of thanksgiving.
